Vision & Mission Of The Department
Open or Close
The EEC division is aiming to be a centre of excellence and think tank in the filed of energy efficient energy in Brunei Darussalam and the region in order to enhance sustainable development. EEC will provide energy efficiency related policy research, advising, and knowledge sharing, with an emphasis on economically attractive deployment.
The following main activities are envisaged to be conducted:
- Support the Bruneian government in designing, analyzing and formulating energy efficiency related legislations, policies or
other practices to enhance economically attractive deployment. For example, designing and implementing energy efficiency
standards and labeling (EE S&L) programs, introducing energy management system, and formulating energy efficiency
regulation on buildings, etc.
- Conducting baseline study on energy efficiency issues. In particular, EEC will conduct a series of baseline studies on energy
consumption in various sectors to assess their energy saving potentials and, in the following, to formulating sectoral energy
saving targets.
- Deepening theoretically-based and empirically-based understanding of the forces shaping energy use in corporations, public
organizations and households and factors that determine the deployment and use of energy efficiency technologies and
practices.
- Working with governments, research institutes, and other organizations within and outside of Brunei Darussalam to promote
energy efficiency knowledge, information and best practices.
